Arts and Media Day Camp;
June 9- 25 (Monday, Tues, Wed, 9AM-4 PM)
Ages 12-18
Registration Fee: $480.00

[$450.00 + $30 material fee (art kit).]

Please join us for a great summer at the beautiful Silver Ash Ranch

Camp Activities;

1/ 2 Day:
Fishing in our stocked lake. Bamboo poles provided. Kids can bring their own fishing pole if desired.  Life jackets will be provided.
Hiking; our rigorous paths make for good hiking. Learn the names of plants, and identify animal tracks.
Equestrian activities- Riding lessons and small groups will rotate on trail rides. Also learn how to saddle, groom and lunge a horse. We have gentle horses and helmets.
Swimming (only if and when a life guard is present)
Movie Day; at least one ½ day we will watch a great classic movie- most likely Charlie Chaplin. This will be discussed afterwards.

LUNCH; Each camper is required to bring his or her own lunch. Please refrain from high sugar/fructose content foods. Beverages and snacks will be provided


1/2 Day:
Art Activities

Music Video. Our plan is to create a music video with the group. We will come up with a song, or songs to make a video to. The group will be divided into their interests, which will include: singing, dancing, costuming, and making a set i.e. Painting, Sculpture and Design). The Instructor will shoot the video and edit the event and each person will receive a DVD of the final production. There will be a material fee of $30 for this class. This fee is required for camp attendance.

Rainy Day Activities include: Darts, horse grooming, movies (great classic and art films- not necessarily common release)

Camp Director and Ranch Proprietor; Hilary Maslon; Hilary Maslon is a professional artist. She spends most of her time in Brooklyn, New York, where she is currently in Grad school receiving a Masters of Fine Arts at Queens College.  She paints, draws and works in video and has shown her work internationally.  Maslon has taught art to youth in the NYC public schools through LEAP, the NYC Shelters through Art Start and the Holly Springs juvenal retention program.  You can see her portfolio at: www.neoimages.com

Jennifer Gardenas: ranch manager.  Jennifer will be our mainstay equestrian handler. She has two children of her own and is a professional horse rider and trainer.

There will be at least one counselor per 7 campers.

Water bottle, swimsuit and towel, insect spray, hat, comfortable hiking shoes (tennis shoes are fine) sunscreen.
Please inform us of any special dietary or medical needs.
Car-pooling - for those of you coming from a distance, we will do our best to arrange car-pooling.
